1. Who We Are
Faction Ledger ("we," "us," or "our") is a campaign management tool designed for tabletop RPG Dungeon Masters and their players. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting any information you share with us.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information when you use Faction Ledger:
- Account Information: Your email address and display name when you register.
- Campaign Data: NPCs, factions, characters, notes, quests, and other content you create within the app.
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and session duration to help us improve the product.
- Payment Information: Billing details are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.
- Audio Recordings (Optional): If you use the Session Recording feature, audio files are uploaded and stored to enable transcription.
3. Device Permissions
Faction Ledger may request the following device permissions:
- Microphone (Optional): Only requested if you choose to use the Session Recording feature to capture audio for transcription. We never access your microphone without your explicit action.
- Camera (Optional): Only requested if you choose to upload a portrait or avatar image using your device camera. No images are captured without your direct input.
- Storage / File Access (Optional): Only accessed when you explicitly choose to upload a file (e.g., an NPC import spreadsheet or portrait image).
- Notifications (Optional): Used to alert players about faction reputation changes, new rumors, and DM messages. You can revoke this permission in your device settings at any time.
We follow the principle of least privilege — we only request permissions that are strictly necessary for a feature you are actively trying to use.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Faction Ledger service.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To send transactional emails (e.g., campaign invitations, receipts).
- To generate campaign-specific notifications for you and your players.
- To analyze usage trends and fix bugs.
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your campaign content for advertising purposes.
5. Data Sharing
We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the platform:
- Stripe: For payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- OpenAI (Optional Features): If you use AI-assisted features, your prompts and relevant context are sent to OpenAI for generation. No personal account data is shared.
- Base44 Platform: The hosting and infrastructure provider for this application.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated campaign data, please contact us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
7. Security
We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. Database records are stored in secure, access-controlled infrastructure. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe's PCI-compliant systems.
